What 16 pax did in Hartsville this morning to #betterthemselvesandeachother

*Radar was the photographer*

YHC had the Q this morning and was eager to see pax from other AOs that I've missed for some time - and to make the special announcement at the end of the beatdow.  7 minutes before seven and those Pax who deserve our RESPECT (50+) outnumbered the rest of us 6 to 3.  Fortunately, due to Benchwarmer's passioned plea to the group chat, several other pax heard the call and a total of 16 pax got better this morning.  Correction: several pax additionally got better at the Spartan Beast, but it wasn't as tough as what we had laid out ahead of us:-)

Warmup:
20 IC Mountain Climbers
15 IC Imperial Walkers
10 IC Merkins
10 IC Penningstons (forward & reverse)
10 OYO Reverse Burpees
15 IC Monkey Humpers
10 OYO Burpees

The Thang:

YHC admits, this was a bit clustered, BUT we got it straightened out and attributed the delay to the pax trying to put off the inevitable #beatdown.  Break into Teams of 3: Comprised of Partner A, B, & C

Partner A: Field behind Y.  Bear Crawl from Cargrill Sidewalk to YMCA Sidewalk. 10 REVERSE Burpees

Partner B: Block Slider down Cargrill.  Perform 10 burpees and return.  Complete until time to rotate.  **the grumbling mumblechatter began before the first exercise was even kicked off here**

Partner C: farmer carry one concrete block four corners of the WZ field.  10 burpees at EACH/EVERY corner.   Finish with 50 big boy situps.

Partner C is the *rotating timer* when they are complete.

Same groups of 3:
Wheelbarrow (or bearcrawl) length of War Zone.  Stopping at each hanging swing on LEFT Side and complete 10 merkins (each pax).  YHC would like to point out the ONLY pax that said they would do the wheelbarrow was the Legend, Radar.  Everyone else, including YHC took the slightly easier route of bear crawls.  T-claps Radar!

Plank or air chair for the six and then lunge walk to the flag.  Circle up for some quick Mary

COT & Mary:
20 IC flutter kicks
20 IC box cutters

Special Announcement:

I remember March of 2015 a certain pax came to my Q.  It was his first time out and I had not met him prior. By the end of the workout, he was thoroughly worn out - and then came the tunnel of love. BUT he came back out and that first two months the transformation physically was astounding.
Over the past two years, we've all seen him transform and really stand out as a #HIM. Dropping weight and physically pushing himself and many others to get better together and then overcoming literally "crippling setbacks, to now being one of F3 Hartsville's outspoken advocates and pushing for 2.0 and F3 Dads involvement. Recently, with several other pax, they've sought ways to push men, dig deeper and complete extremely hard challenges only by leaning on each other (read: 30 Day CSAUP challenges). Green Acres has taken the call to lead other men and agreed to be Hartsville's next Nan'Tan.  Let's welcome him and support him in every way that he has supported us!
Announcements:
Welcome FNG, Sludge!  Pushed hard and kept up every step of the way, look forward to you joining us more!
Grid Iron had its kickoff this past Thursday with 5 FNGs.  Keep getting the word out to other men in the community, especially in the Kellytown area.  Reach out to Green Acres, Goldi, LoveBug, GroundBlind, Stallion, or Shaffer to get them plugged in there.
Devo:

Why do we compare ourselves w others?

Often, what is really being compared is our “insides” or how we see ourselves to others “outsides” or how perfect it seems like their life is.

Two fold reason here:

1.  what it will lead to in our own life

"Comparison is the thief of joy" -T.Roosevelt

Galatians 6:4-5, MSG Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.

2.  it prevents us from really seeing the needs of others or how we could love them during their difficult times

Prayer and Close Out

Privileged to lead this morning, men!

WarZone runs Convergence

Saturday’s Convergence had low numbers, but the pax who came, represented each AO well and work was done, bettering each man in attendance! It is worth noting though, that there were many pax NOT in attendance that were sorely missed!

YHC and Green Acres decided to utilize a WarZone themed workout, contrived of many of the familiar beatdowns that take place at WarZone during many early glooms. Eisenhower and Audit closed out with some Mary. YHC didn't call him out, but we believe that Audit joined in, in calling some Mary because he secretly misses being part of the Mothership, known as WarZone!

Warm-Up:
In Cadence, 20x SSH
In Cadence, 20 Imperial Walkers
JackWebb travel UP to 7 on the pyramid. There were many groans when YHC indicated we would travel back down as well, but YHC decided to extend some grace so that those complaining pax would be able to still finish the workout!

The pax divided up into groups of 3, with one group having 4 members. Partner A in each group would run the block, stopping at each corner for the exercise before continuing around the block. Each corner built on the previous:
Corner #1: 10 hand release merkins
Corner #2: 10 HR merkins & 20 air squats
Corner #3: 10 HR merkins, 20 air squats, & 30 mountain climbers (single count)
Corner #4: 10 HR merkins, 20 air squats, 30 mountain climbers, & 40 big boy sit-ups
While Partner A was completing this work, Partner B got on their six and performed flutter kicks until Partner C ran the length of WarZone, performed 10 burpees and returned. Partner B & C flap-jacked and continued this pattern until Partner A completed the full block. Work continued until all members of the teams completed each station.

Green Acres took over for the second half and wasted no time in bringing the pain. Each pax was instructed to get a block and meet back at Cargrill Way.
Block Sliders! Slide/push cinder block from YMCA/Cargrill all the way to 4th Street. This length is just long enough to leave you completed gassed!
On arrival and planking for the six, the group moseyed (leaving blocks at 4th and CarGrill) to 4th and Carolina. In the parking lot, GA had each pax choose a lane and performed bear crawl across the parking lot followed by 10, slow and good form merkins. GA took us back across the parking lot with crab walks and 10 dips. We completed 3 full rounds of these tricep blasting routines.
GA moseyed us back to the blocks to finish what we started, with another round of out favorite blocksliders!

Eisenhower and Audit brought it home, closing out with some Mary, consisting of Hartsville Hammers, side-V-ups, and LBCs.

Prayers:
The impact of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma
Keep an eye out for those in need and how we as F3Hartsville can somehow serve/help
Pax in need or hurting

Devo:
Attitude - by Charles Swindoll
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past,
than education, than money,
than circumstances, than failures, than successes,
than what other people think, say, or do,
It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.
It will make or break a company...a church, ....a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice
everyday regarding the attitude
we embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past,
we cannot change the fact that people
will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play the one string we have,
and that is our attitude....
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me
and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you...we are in charge of our Attitude!

Pre-Blast Custom Hartsville HEAVY

What happens after the F3 Pax complete a Custom Tough? We raise the bar!  October this year, the Hartsville Custom HEAVY is coming.  Will you take the challenge?  This will be an event your peers would never dream of doing…unless you count your fellow F3 Pax as peers!  This event can’t be completed without your fellow pax supporting each other.  Please note, it is NOT required to have completed an event before this Heavy, it may help, especially for your mindset, but we have plenty of tough and weathered pax who were not able to complete the event last year for various reasons.  We want ALL of you guys with us for this one.

This isn’t a Tough.  It isn’t just 12 hours.  It requires you to mentally prepare to go hard for one full day.  24 hours.  You holding your fellow men to the fire ensuring you or they don’t quit.  We’ll talk for years of completing this event together.  Sign up.  I want you beside me out there.  GoRuck will even be bringing back the old APFT that the original Heavies included!

The date is set for 10/27 & 28/16, mark your calendars!  That’s just over 7 months away!  Our event will be complete sometime Saturday evening and we’ll be working to plan a meal afterwards to share along with your families.

Who: F3 Hartsville Pax and other pax from F3 Regions (ALL F3 Pax are WELCOME!) Plus TWO GoRuck Cadre!
What: GoRuck HEAVY event.  Custom – ~24 hours
When: October 27 & 28, 2017 –Tentatively 8pm Friday until 8pm Saturday
Where: Hartsville, SC
Why: ??CSAUP of course!  Truthfully, to go through this bonding experience with the men of Hartsville and F3 Nation and raise our bar! Cost: $175 per man (Option for 3 separate payments of $58 or all up front).  This will include finisher Custom Heavy Tshirt.

GoRuck will be setting up a Facebook event page, that we can use this for communication, training, recruitment, etc.  Most communication will come via our GroupMe chat.  Don’t have that yet? Ask one of us!  Facebook link will come soon as it is live.

The limit for this event is 35 pax.  Would be great to have more, but to have the best quality event and still keep the cost manageable, 35 men is the number.  Don’t miss out on this!  I can tell you, this event will be something you remember and you’ll remember who you completed this with! To lock in your slot, we need a HC and $75 towards your registration.  Payment will be used via PayPal so we can track accurately.
**edit: We now have only 16 slots open.  This is open to Any and ALL of F3 Nation!!**

To HC, we need your email address (for communications) and send $payment (either in full or notating partial payment) to ChuckyCheese via PayPal to: kaz.prikazsky@gmail.com its free, send to friends and family. **Please indicate in the memo your F3 Name and “HEAVY” ** If you prefer, you can catch me at a workout instead of via PayPal, but PayPal is probably the easiest option.  Note you have not HC’d until you’ve paid.

Training: Here’s the deal, we will organize and promote training to prepare for this CSAUP event, but the best opportunities to train are the workouts you currently participate in!  Additionally, we have a Friday morning workout, taking place at WarZone, that is aptly named Currahee.  This is just one workout among the many choices each week!  BUT, until the Custom, Currahee will be molded exclusively to train for the event!  Additionally, most of our AOs have doubledown options each workout, such as 3-4 mile run prior to the workouts.

Your pax in charge of assisting you to prepare for this event: UHaul and Klinger.  They have both agreed to lend any hand in preparing and truthfully, we probably couldn’t ask for better pax to prepare us in this journey.

We encourage you to begin wearing a ruck during some (*Note: not all the time!!) of your normal workouts.  Slowly add some weight, say starting at just 10lbs and get used to having a ruck on your back!  Stay tuned to GroupMe and the announcements at each of the workouts for other upcoming training opportunities! Start thinking about your ruck.  A GoRuck branded ruck is not required, but can prove beneficial.  If you’d like to see what they offer, check out www.goruck.com.  Feel free to ask any of the pax you see wearing rucks if you’d like to try them on for size!

As we approach this event, the mumblechatter will ramp up and we know you’ll wish you were part!  Don’t miss out on this incredible experience to bond with your F3 brothers and meet some F3 pax from other regions!

If you have any questions, please let me know!  Email is best: kaz.prikazsky@gmail.com (ChuckyCheese)

Change of Pace for The Clinic

Conditions: Muggy.  Waiting for the rain to arrive. (It didn’t).

Today was about testing our mettle.  Knowing that The Clinic prides themselves in pushing their limits, YHC was thankful for the opportunity to bring a little change of pace, characteristically of the War Zone, and get better together.  19 pax worked Hard.  18 pax completed 175 burpees each, totaling 3,325 burpees.  YHC had intended on mentioning at the outset of the workout the purpose of so many burpees (other than they are my favorite exercise) but neglected to remind the pax until mid round.  A GoRuck cadre is completing a fundraiser and has set a goal of 1,000,000 burpees.  Today, YHC thought the Clinic as a whole, could contribute.  Here's how we broke it out:

Warm-Up:
25 burpees right out of the gate
20 4count surrenders [New exercise - consists of get down to knees and back up to squat position]

Main Thang:
The HUB consists of a "circle" with 5 different stations encompassing the hub.  Each of these stations was set approximately 50 yards (or so) from the Hub.  The method to complete started with the HUB exercise and then traversing to the next station, completing the exercise at that specific station and returning back to the HUB, completing the HUB exercise once again, and moving on to the next station.  The first round was a bit jumbled up due to poor explanation and difficult visibility, but the pax grasped the idea quickly and began to really push themselves.  The HUB exercise was completed at the end of the last station each round as well.  We completed 3 Rounds.

Round 1 - Method of Travel between HUB and stations: Run/Mosey
HUB: 15 burpees
Station 1: 15 Carolina dry docks
Station:2: 15 Merkins
Station 3: 15 Squats
Station 4: 15 Mountain Climbers
Station 5: 15 Merkins (I think)

The #mumblechatter was silent during each round, but the pax quickly made up for it between each round and kept us all motivated....or just eager to silence the mumblechatter and get on with the next set!

Round 2 - Method of Travel between HUB and stations: Backwards Mosey
HUB: 15 monkey humpers
Station 1: 15 Lunges (Count right leg each time)
Station 2: 15 Surrenders (4 count exercise)
Station 3: 15 Jump Squats
Station 4: 15 Lunges (Count right leg each time)
Station 5: 15 Surrenders (4 count exercise)

Round 3 - Method of Travel between HUB and stations: BEAR CRAWLS!!
HUB: 10 burpees
Station 1: 15 V-ups
Station 2: 15 V-ups
Station 3: 15 V-ups
Station 4: 15 V-ups
Station 5: 15 V-ups

The last round was just painful, but each pax put their head down, dug deep and completed some crazy amount of bear crawling to and from each station and hub.  Great work put out by each pax this morning and I was thankful to be a part of it today!

Announcements:
-Florence 3-Year Annv this Saturday.  Clown Car from WZ at 0600
-F3 Summerville is hosting TheHurricane.  Free event and great GoRuck prep.  Hartsville may have several pax going.  June 24.
-FIA is asking for volunteers for their #CSAUP upcoming. June 3.  Support them!

Prayer: Several pax were discussed, for interviews, health reports, health conditions.  Keep each other in prayer men.

Isaiah 40:28-31 "..even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

Thankful for the opportunity men,

WarZone Faithful to close out the year

8 PAX started out to do something hard at WarZone and Green Acres finished strong with us after knocking out his rehab workout early on.  Can’t wait for GA to rejoin us in full force! Quite the bit of #mumblechatter the night before with Tater Salad and Little Jack vying for pax to come support their workouts.  YHC knew the WZ regulars would stay faithful and figured he’d have to reward the pax for it!  We all got better and pushed through to the end!

WarmUp:
Penningtons x 20 (IC forward and then reverse)

Air Squats x 10 (IC)

YHC liked Dumper’s mary work a few weeks ago and tried to remember the “Double Triple”

WallE informed YHC that it was a bit unlike Dumpers, but it worked well for YHC’s math skills!

Worked up to a pyramid using the 1 flutter à2 full leg ups à4 LBCs all the way up to 7 flutterà14 full leg ups—28 LBCs (going 1 thru 7 on the flutter kicks)

Moleskin and Devo:

T-claps to Postal for redeeming the fartsack Q earlier this week!  Postal, that was def the way to do it! campaigning now for #biscuitsfortheFartsackers

Great workout Pax, YHC knows if Klinger and WallE were gassed, then everyone got what they needed and were better for it!

WallE has a New Year’s Eve party at his place.  All Ms and 2.0s are welcome as well.  Starts at Clemson kickoff!

Sign-up for the Fox!  Hartsville’s premier #CSAUP! Feb 4th!

Take the time to think about goals and being a better man this year, in all aspects, not just physical.  YHC discussed Solomon’s desire as a young man to be a leader for his people and his request for Wisdom from God.  Take that I am 2nd mindset this year!

Thankful for the opportunity to get beatdown together with you men. Great job today pushing and great job working together!

When would it end??

YHC was excited to Q the Saturday workout, to be able to catch up with the other Pax from Clinic, Farsight, and Revolution as well as the regulars at WarZone, but on Thursday realized that my calf had not yet healed from a strain last weekend.  Well. We can work with that, just eliminate any running and plan around it!  YHC soon found out that without running, aka bits of breathers, the workout seemed to crawl by.  YHC knew we were in for some good work when we ALL needed a water break by 0725!  But each of us got better and all of us pushed harder because of the men on each side of us.  Here's what happened, as accurately as I can recall:

Conditions: Muggy as possible, just the same as the past few weeks.  Considering Revolution is at 5:30 pm, this would prove no problem for those regulars!

Warm-Up
In honor of our No-Show:-)
Penningtons x 15 IC (forward then reverse)
Frankensteins x 15 IC
Monkey Humpers x 15 IC
Burpees x 10 OYO
Monkey Humpers x 15 IC
Hand Release Merkins x 10 IC

Partner Up: Still remaining in Circle
Partner A: Holds Low Plank
Partner B: Leg Levers x 25 (flapjack)

Partner A: Holds High Plank
Partner B: Burpees x 15 (flapjack)

Partner A: Holds Low Plank
Partner B: Leg Levers x 20 (flapjack)

Partner A: Holds High Plank
Partner B: Burpees x 10 (flapjack)

At this point, we were already gasping, but it was still early, so onward to the far side of WarZone, keeping with partners, lining up along the stone sidewalk.
Round 1
Partner A: Bear Crawl to the FIRST light pole and then perform 5 merkins.
Partner B: Hold Plank at the Start area until Partner A has complete his 5 merkins.  Then Partner B bear crawls to the FIRST light pole and performs his 5 merkins.  Once complete, Partner A moves forward to the NEXT light pole and progress down the field until at the other side of the field.  To return, wheelbarrow, flipflopping with your partner as many times as necessary to get back across.  Lots of #mumblechatter when we could catch our breath!
Round 2
Partner A: Lunge Walk to the FIRST light pole and then perform 10 squats
Partner B: Hold air chair until Partner B has completed his 10 squats, then lunge walk to the FIRST light pole and perform 10 squats.  Once partner B has completed, Partner A continues to the NEXT light pole and progress down the field until the other side.  Run back, t-claps to the Pax who gave it their all, even when that included a hammy!
Water Break
Round 3
Partner A: Crab Walk to FIRST light pole, then perform 10 V-ups
Partner B: Hold the Boat Hold (core exercise) and complete in the same pattern.

Still plenty of time, so we worked on an AMRAP for 10 minutes:

5 Burpees at the sidewalk,
Bear Crawl to the first light pole
10 merkins at that light pole
Lunge walk to the flag (middle of the field)
15 air squats
Run back and repeat for 10 minutes.
t-claps to several guys here for really pushing themselves!

Circle up for some Mary:
Flutter Kicks x 20 IC
LBCs x 20 IC
Box Cutters x 20 IC

2. Custom GoRuck Tough coming to Hartsville November 4, 2016.  Sign up!!

Prayer and Devo:
Proverbs 6: 10 "A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come upon you like a robber."  Just something to think about, we choose to exercise self discipline when we come out here....remember that and think on that, it's one of the great benefits!  Also, even more important than our physical exercise discipline, is our spiritual discipline.

Thoroughly enjoyed leading and pushing with you men! Aye!

Devo: Philippians 3: 12-15 (done by Mams)

Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it, because I have also been taken hold of by Jesus Christ.  I do not consider myself taken hold of it.  But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead. I pursue in my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Jesus Christ.

Meaning: Paul is stating that he does not fully understand Jesus Christ at this moment.  There is simply too much to fully grasp on this side of heaven.  The key is to make every effort to understand as much as possible.  Take hold of Him and His word.  We might never reach spiritual perfection but that is not what being a Christian is all about.  Take hold of Jesus, as He is a prize!  Once you reach heaven we will reach perfection by getting the full understanding and become mature.

To doubledown or not doubledown….what a question!

Several pax started chatting Friday evening about some #doubledown opportunities, and t-claps to the two groups of pax who chose that path!  5.5 mile run or a beatdown Q'd by Divac, all prior to YHCs 0700 beatdown.  What a great start to a Saturday!

Mary Webb: 1 to 4 ratio --> (1) 4ct box cutter and 4 leg levers, (2) 4ct box cutters and 8 leg levers all the way up to (5) 4ct box cutters and 20 leg levers.  Quite the #mumblechatter now!
The pax were appreciative to hear we were moving on to:

COT:
Name-o-Rama & Countoff.  Welcome to FNG, Tony Robbins!  Great to have you out here with us!  T-Claps to the pax participating in the Spartan Sprint in Charlotte!  Discussion on the MudRun upcoming, keep your training up, there's still time to join and Hartsville has the largest gathering so far!

Divac discussed the Christmas in April - Check out the link on GroupMe chat, date is April 23!

Ecclesiastes 4:12 "...and though a man might prevail against one who is along, two will withstand him --a threefold cord is not quickly broken."  A key verse that goes a long way in explaining the real purpose of F3 among our brothers.  Hold each other up, ask the harder questions, fight against just being surface!

Prayer:  Warren Wonka, aka Oompa Loompa's wife having brain surgery at MUSC on Tuesday.  Keep up the prayers and encouragement for him.  Also, continued prayer for LoveBug's mom and praise that the recent surgery went well, prayer for continued recovery.  Several other pax, for various trials.  Be there for them!

Aye Pax, privilege to lead this morning and get better with each of you!
